McLaren P13 (pictured) first OFFICIAL details revealed
It was only last month that we had official confirmation that the McLaren P13 – McLaren’s more affordable mid-engined supercar – would arrive in 2015 to take on cars like Audi’s R8 and the top end Porsche 911s. Now McLaren has gone a bit further and revealed details of the P13. The McLaren P13 – shown above in a sketch by McLaren’s design boss, Frank Stephenson – looks to take its design cues more from the MacLaren P1 than the 12C – a good thing – and will utilise the same carbon fibre MonoCell chassis as the P1 and 12C as well as a de-tuned version of the same 3.8 litre V8 turbo.
Do convertibles and all-wheel drive go together like oil and water, or peas and carrots? BMW seems to think the latter, with the addition of the company's xDrive system to the 2012 BMW 650i. BMW says the all-wheel-driver versions of the 6-series are faster than the rear-drive cars.
Hamilton takes McLaren's firts win of the season at the Hungaroring
Hamilton passed Red Bull’s Mark Webber early in the race, and found himself at the front of the pack when Alonso retired after a botched wheel change saw him lose his front wheel. Despite the pressure from Raikkonen Hamilton never really looked in danger of losing the lead and brought the McLaren home in first place for the first time this season. Team mate Kovalainen came in fifth, making this McLaren’s best showing of the season.
